Skiing at Hafjell

A ski holiday in Hafjell offers something for the whole family in one place. The area is easy to navigate, yet full of varied challenges. Norway’s only gondola is located in the center and takes you from the base to the top in just a few minutes.

    Alpine skiing at Hafjell

    Hafjell has a vertical drop of 835 m and 50 km of slopes accessible via 15 lifts and 1 gondola. Your ski pass also gives you free access to the entire area, including Kvitfjell, which is right next door. The slopes cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced skiers, with highlights like the Kjus Run and a 6 km illuminated night slope. Hafjell boasts plenty of natural snow and snow cannons, ensuring top-quality conditions year-round.

    Cross-country skiing at Hafjell

    Hafjell offers countless opportunities for fantastic winter hikes. From the top, you have access to 300 km of prepared cross-country trails. Øyerfjellet provides many options for beautiful walks in the snowy landscape. Starting from the top at Gaiastova, it’s 12 km from base to summit. You can also take the gondola to Mosetertoppen, where you can enjoy, among other routes, a 3.7 km trail that is lit from early morning until late evening.

    Snowboarding

    A ski holiday in Hafjell offers plenty of snowboarding fun for all levels. Beginners can start safely in the children’s area, while slightly more experienced riders will enjoy the blue park with bigger jumps, rails, and boxes. Advanced snowboarders can challenge themselves in Hafjell’s main park. With a total of three snowboard parks, Hafjell offers something for everyone – whatever your level.

    Hafjell for children

    The ski resort has 3 children’s areas with different difficulty levels. There is also a ski school for children and teenagers. Hafjell has several family areas with barbecue facilities, where you can grill your own food.

    In Hafjell, you’ll also find an indoor playground, museums, and many other fun family activities.

Hafjell Alpine Center is one of Norway's largest ski resorts with more than 50 kilometers of groomed trails, 18 lifts, and a varied terrain suitable for all skill levels. See information about the ski center here.

For alpine, the ski guarantee covers 5 km of slopes in the period 05.12–31.12.2025, and 20 km of slopes in the period 01.01–16.04.2026. For cross-country skiing there is no ski guarantee.
